  • Hello deb

I'm so very sorry to hear about your Mum's illness and that she's now approaching the end of her life. It's obviously an incredibly difficult time for you all and natural that you may be feeling lots of different emotions at the moment.

Many of our members know how hard it can be to watch a loved one in the last days of their life. Be kind to yourself Deb and lean on your family and friends for support.

The forum is here to listen if it helps you to have somewhere to write down how you're feeling so please do post again if you want too.

Sending you all my best wishes at this sad time.

  • Hi Deb,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear of your mum's recent problems. Do you have a nurse coming in to see to her legs? If not, don't hesitate to ask your GP for help. It is really heartrending to see our loved ones in pain yet, sadly, this is something that we can do little about. Do you have carer's coming i , or are you coping with this on your own? It sounds as if you should have additional help at this stage.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Deb,

I am so very sorry to hear that you lost your Mum and I send my Sincere Condolences to you and your family. Watching a loved one fail and in pain. at the end. is truly devastating. I lost my own Mum to secondary breast cancer, which had spread to her liver, lungs, brain and bone and, although I felt desolate at her passing, my overawing feeling was of relief, that she was finally pain free and at rest. That was 26 years ago now and I still miss her every day.

At first, all I could recall of her, was her end of life suffering, but gradually happier memories come to the fore, as you come to terms with your grief and the changes, that this has brought.

I am always here if you want to talk.

    Kindest regards,

    Jolamine xx
