I am so sorry to hear your mum has only a few months left to live. It must be a heartbreaking time for you. I hope you won't mind but I've added a little more information to the title of your thread so that it can be more easily spotted by other members of our community who have also looked after a loved one with cancer and who I am sure will have some comforting words for you based on their own personal experiences.
Sometimes you get through the day fine and it just hits you at night when it's quiet, you are on your own and everyone has gone to bed. It's a sadness that many on our forum will be able to relate to and I hope that you have some good support around you at the moment. I know you've been told your mum only has a few months to live, but it's important that you just take one day at a time and try and spend quality time with her without thinking too much about the prognosis if you can. This is also because these estimates are not always accurate or reliable.
