  • I'm so very sorry to read this Plum.

I can't even begin to comprehend what you and your family must be going through at the moment but I really do hope you can take some comfort, and strength, from knowing you are a part of a very caring, supportive and understanding community who I'm sure will be along soon to offer you all their support and advice at this extremely difficult time.

    Kind regards,

  • Dear Plum

im so incredibly sorry, this disease is vile. I wish I could offer you comfort.

My dad, albeit 76, has the same cancer as your son. He has also never smoked and very rarely drunk. I get annoyed when it's assumed this cancer is a smokers one and has often been commented on. Sadly dad now has brain mets on top of the oesophageal cancer. His is NECa so inoperable, which I'm told is very rare and even rarer to mets to the brain.

I don't understand why there is so little known when it's clear non smokers are affected by this.

I just wanted to reach out to you, and send you love x

  • Hi Plum , I feel so sorry for you, I can speak from experience as I've just lost my partner to O C on the 18 th October 2022,the same as your son very young only 49 he's 50 December ... it all started 18 months ago he became poorly the last few months in and out of hospital . It's a cruel illlness not being able to even drink water most days. I'm truly heartbroken I'm off work at the moment struggling to come to terms with it all . Your son is so precious ️
I really do feel for you ... if you want to message me your more than welcome .
    Take care . X
