How long

Hello everyone

My friend's husband has terminal brain cancer and he's been fighting for over a year

He was OK until a week ago

Now he is on bed, his speech has changed and he is tired all the time but he has no pain

At list he is not suffering any pain exept no movement in left leg or arm

Doctor gave him  maximum 3 months but he is very tired

He is on steroids

Does any one knows how long to the end from being bedbound

  • Hi , sorry to hear about your friends husband battle with brain cancer.

A cruel illness which still doesn't have proper treatment, very little funding from government and treatment hasn't changed for years and years that's why we lose so many people to brain cancer.

I lost my brother five weeks ago to brain cancer, he fought bravely for 14 months but survived 9 weeks on palliative home care, the end was difficult to watch, he lost his mobility, use of arm, speech, memory and had painful headaches daily, he was bedbound for about 6 weeks but the last two weeks he suffered immensely. He didn't open his bowels for three weeks, stopped eating a week before he passed , small amounts of fluids , was on syringe driver but lost concusness last four days and he gasped for breathe, he went through the toughest battle ever but he is a hero and a warrior and on the day we laid him to rest his wish was to collect money for brain tumour charity instead of donating flowers , he raised nearly £500 , what a legacy!!!

everybody is different but my brothers decline was rapid , he was only 51.

just tell your friend to be there, hold his hand , talk to him , make them last memories

Brain cancer is cruel and robs us of our loved ones

    Stay strong
