Is this rallying?

My mother has whole body stage 4 scarcoma has been for for 2 years but been on rapid decline lately, she had a fall the other day and the hospice took her an emergency on Thursday and when we got there they said get your priest for last rights, say your good byes and then yesterday her breathing was very laboured and then randomly she sat up, asked for a drink and drank 1.7L, wanted soup, the telly on and this morning the hospice have said she's been asking for porridge?! She hasn't been eating for Atlest a week prior to this! and on Thursday she couldn't swallow and district nurses were saying this is it!

I'm woundering are we rallying? I can't shake this anxiety I'm waking up every day expecting 'the call'

  • hello

so sorry to hear about your mum, but this dying is a strange thing, my dad did the same he was drinking lots and lots of milk was asking for food and stuff and seemed up pick up but then he passed away a couple of days later in his sleep.

they cannot predict when and what time unfortunately but id just stay close just in case

    my thoughts are with you

  • Though it wasn't cancer with my mother in law, she did the same thing a couple or so days before she passed. She was mostly unresponsive. but the doctors and nurses warned us she may have a rallying episode. It's not uncommon. She did and for a day or 2 you would have been forgiven for thinking she was on the mend. I can see why this confuses folk. It confused us too even though we were warned this could happen. It gets your hopes up.
