This is indeed devastating news I am so sorry to hear that your cancer has spread to your bladder, liver and lungs. I hope you won't mind but I have changed the title of your thread to make it more specific and so that it hopefully attracts more relevant replies from some of our members who may have found themselves in a similar place before.

I am so sorry to hear you are in a lot of pain and I hope that they manage to sort out the pain relief for you. It's great that you have a supportive husband and family to help you during these tough  times. You are so kind and thoughtlful to be worrying about your grandchildren. They are indeed so young and I can understand why you would find it so difficult to talk to them about this. Children are very resilient though so try not to worry too much about it if you can. I am sure you will find the right words and that the little ones, who tend to live in the moment, will take everything in their stride. 

Our page on talking to children about cancer has some useful tips which you may find interesting and I hope that you will also hear from other members of our forum who have had to have this difficult conversation before. I hope that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. 

I hope that your chemotherapy treatment goes well in three weeks - sending positive vibes your way ahead of your treatment.
