In April 2021 my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer of the spine. The tumors are currently in 4 places on the spine. This was caused by having stage 3 breast cancer 10 years ago. My mum is 51. We are coming up to a new year and I can't help but think 2022 is going to be horrific. Any encouraging stories to maybe give me some hope x

  • Hello EmmaB,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat. I am so sorry to hear about your mum's terminal diagnosis. It's really sad that the tumours are currently in 4 places on the spine but I hope that they have offered some treatment to relieve her symptoms.

It's normal that you are feeling a bit apprehensive about the new year but try if you can to take one day at a time. I really hope that 2022 turns out to be better than you are fearing and that it gives you reasons for joy and happiness too despite these incredibly difficult circumstances.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have been through a similar experience before and that they will come and share their stories with you.

Best wishes to you and your mum,
