Menopause after chemotherapy?

Hi, I just wanted to find out if possible if anyone has had treatment for breast cancer and what the outcome was with regards to the menopause?

I finished my chemotherapy back in December and decided to buy some ovulation tests on the off chance. The tests have been positive everyday but on searching the internet I found  that LH levels are high in menopause :( so this probably accounts for the high reading everyday.

I guess I'm just hopefully trying to find someone who has been through chemotherapy and only went into temperary menopause, not irreversible to give me hope.

Love to everyone xx

  • Hi Sarah

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing symptoms of menopause following your treatment. It's obviously difficult on many levels and I do hope that other women who have been through this will post to share their experiences with you.

We do have some information here which you may find helpful but I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call to talk things through with them. It may be that they're able to give you some additional information, support and advice about things. If you'd like to chat with them, they're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you get some answers soon.

    Best wishes,
