Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 4B

Hi there,

its my first time using any type of forum etc. I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4B Hodgkin lymphoma I'm 23 and I mother to a 5 year old; and to be honest I am worried about starting treatment and just wanted to maybe touch base with others in a similar position or propel that have gone through this as well.

  • Hi CRL11

    And welcome to cancer chat

It can be a very anxious time waiting for treatment to start and I'm sure our forum members will be along soon to welcome you and share their experiences and offer their advice and support.

In the meantime if you have any questions you can contact our experienced cancer nurses Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm on (freephone): 0808 800 4040 and you can also post questions in our 'Ask the Nurses' section of the forum if you prefer.

  • Hi there!

I'm 25 and in remission from stage 4 Hodking's lymphoma

My treatment was tolerable and continued with life as usual. I don't have children but had just started a master's degree that required a lot of hard work and late nights. There were some 'sick' days of course; for me it was 2-3 half days every 2 weeks so really can't complain.

What are you worried about in particular? happy to answer any questions

  • Hi CRL11,

I've just finished my chemotherapy for Non-Hodkin lymphoma, i'm 31 with a 5year old.  I found the work up to the first treatment was the worst one, the unknown, the what next.

I saw and still see as being a host in this strange enviroment- i've sort of taken myself out of the equation, the "battle" is between the treatment and the lymphoma, not me...

just remember to breathe, and if I can impart any advice it would be to pop into a local support centre, I didn't do it and found that i'd bottled so much up it was having an affect on everything else.

    Much love
