Hi everyone,
I would really like some advice on this. I had breast cancer five years ago. The treatment included a lumpectomy on one side. At that time I didn't feel up to dealing with reconstruction.
Now I feel finally ready for reconstruction. Unfortunately lipofilling or using fat from my own body is not an option so the doctor suggested using an implant. I wasn't looking to increase my breast size, just evening the two sides out. But I have read that putting an implant only on one side means in the long run, one side will give in to gravity while the other side will not. The doc wanted to work on only one side but when I brought this up, he agreed that we should add a smaller implant to the other side as well. But now the doc is again pushing me to have the implant put only on one side.
Does anyone have any experience with this - getting an implant only on one side? Over time do the breasts end up looking uneven? I have smallish breasts so it is an option for me to go up a size just to have both sides worked on...
Thank you for your advice!
