  • Hi Kylej and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

What a shock it must have been for you to be diagnosed with ALK+ lung cancer at such a young age when you thought you had a viral infection. This is a relatively rare form of lung cancer and there is a charity ALK Positive Lung Cancer (UK) established by a group of patients and carers which provides support for people affected by ALK positive non small cell lung cancer.

I thought I would also let you know about  's stage 4 lung cancer thread - this member posted a few months ago mentioning that they are ALK+ and on Alectinib and they were looking to get in contact with someone else going through the same treatment or diagnosis so don't hesitate to drop them a line if you wish to do so.

Have you been told what treatment you might be having?

If you have any questions or concerns, do feel free to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm.

    Best wishes,
