Currently awaiting biopsy results for stomach cancer age 24

Hi all, i am new here! I have been struggling a lot recently i’ve been having stomach issues for a while now, i’ve recently had an endoscopy and they have found something and taken some biopsies, i’ve also had a stomach infection with helicobacter pylori within the last year, i had the biopsies taken 23rd December 2024 however nearly 3 weeks later and i still haven’t heard anything and i just can’t help but constantly worry about it, and google makes me more anxious, i know they did say to me between 6/8 weeks but doesn’t make me feel any better, ive come on here to maybe have a chat with people in similar situations rather than constantly sit on google

  • Hello Becky200,

Poor you what an anxious time it must be for you as you are waiting for these important biopsy results. It must be so stressful to be told that they have found something and this 'something' is bound to make you worried but you won't really know what you are dealing with until these important biopsy results are back and I am keeping everything crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing of concern. As you can see on our website, biopsy results normally take about 2 weeks but with the festive period things may have got a little bit delayed. As you've been waiting for 3 weeks, I would perhaps chase these results and give your doctor a call just to check how long it might still take. 6-8 weeks sounds like a long time to have to wait for these results. I would definitely advise against going anywhere near Google as this will only make you more anxious as you've seen yourself and I would suggest instead that you have a read of these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that you won't have to wait too long and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern. I will now let other members of our community who have been through something similar before come and say hello and share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
