  • Hi there Em-Lou24,

I am 34 and was just diagnosed with breast cancer last week. I am still awaiting the results of various diagnostic tests (mammogram, MRI and HER2 status). It has been a big shock and really challenging to manage the anxiety and sadness around it. Would also be keen to connect and chat.

  • Hi ash8765  , sorry to hear of your diagnosis.
I got diagnosed on the 6th November. I also had gene testing done luckily got the results back Friday and nothing detected. I started my chemo on 6th December I’m currently 3 treatments in. I can understand how you feeling since I found out until treatment it’s like a think heavy cloud over top of me . Xx

  • Hi Em-Lou24

I've also recently been diagnosed with breast cancer at 34 (while pregnant) and having my second chemotherapy treatment tomorrow (later today really). Hope you've found the treatment to be OK so far.

  • Hey , Heather34

Sorry to hear your diagnosis. How far pregnant are you? Yea I’m finding it ok had round 4 yesterday. But I couldn’t have my immunotherapy because my blood count was a tad high but had my 2 doses of chemo. How are you feeling? X

  • Hi, thanks, sorry to hear about yours too. How often are you having the treatments? It's good you're not finding it too bad!

I'm 34 weeks pregnant now so we're squeezing in some treatments before I have to take a break to have the baby, which is a bit scary. Think there's other treatments possibly available though that they can't give me at the moment. Had second dose today (although 1st dose was only 1 of 2 drugs because of a bad reaction to the first) so far just very tired.

Hope your blood count returns to normal quickly so you can get back on the immunotherapy soon! Best of luck with it!

  • Oh wow bless you 34 weeks your very close then. How long after baby born will treatment carry on.

    Are you having chemo?

That’s good there giving some treatment before as well.
What type of breast cancer have you been diagnosed with. I’ve got triple negative.. x

  • I don't know how long the gap will be unfortunately, that's quite scary! I am having chemo yes. Actually don't know what type of receptors yet, one was negative (i think) one borderline and another hadn't come back yet so they're running the samples again.

How often are you having chemo? Do you usually have the immunotherapy at the same time or is it spaced out?  (Sorry to ask questions, feel free not to answer!) I hope you're feeling well anyway - and happy new year :)

  • I’m sure they will know the right plan for you . I’m having 1 chemo weekly then every third week I have 2 chemo and immunotherapy got that for 12 weeks I’m 4 down . Then I’ve got another round of chemo and immunotherapy once every 3 weeks for 12 weeks .

Yea I’m feeling ok with luckily hope it continues.
happy new year to you too.
Is this your first baby or have you more children.
Really hope all goes ok for you how are you feeling with chemo and being pregnant you must be so tired. X
