I’m 18 years old and have recently been diagnosed with (at least) stage 3B melanoma. My melanoma came back to have a very high mitotic count, so was pretty aggressive and they found a microsatellite nearby. I’m scheduled to have surgery for a wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy. The site is my neck. I’m so terrified for everything - especially the general anaesthesia and the operation being on my neck. My surgeon very briefly mentioned the risk of paralysis from the neck down it keeps replaying in my head. But I know the healing process is going to be horrible because of where it is located. Was hoping that someone could give their experience so I know more what to expect? Thanks in advance!
