How can it take this long??

I’m nearly 2 weeks since being told I provisionally have DCIS but they needed to do further tests on the biopsy. I was supposed to get these further results last Wednesday but they weren’t back and now we are half way through Monday and I still haven’t heard anything. I haven’t really seen any other stories where people didn’t get a clear diagnosis for weeks. I don’t understand what is taking so long, if it’s not clear why haven’t they taken more biopsy’s? I’m so frustrated living in this limbo land, I don’t want to go anywhere in case I get the call when I’m out. And potentially I’m just sitting here twiddling my thumbs with an invasive cancer growing and spreading with no treatment plan..

  • I'm so sorry for the time it's taking for your results to come back and for the stress and anxiety this is understandably causing Em24ma.

I really do hope you have heard something since making this post but if you're still waiting you could try asking your GP to chase this up for you.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in this unenviable position will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to discuss this further with one of our nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

The waiting really is the hardest part of this journey Em24ma but we are here for you and sending all our support your way.

    Kind regards,
