Club you don’t want to join!!

Hello all,

Diagnosed 4 weeks ago thinking I had an ulcer! 58, non-smoker,  run 12k a day, eat well etc etc ‍♂️ Mild pain in my upper abdomen and, once I eventually got to the GP, had to demand the endoscopy as I was 'fit and healthy' bloods all good!   Delayed the endoscopy cos of work as never thought I'd get diagnosed the way I have .... anyway camera went down and was told to go home and 'sort out my affairs' - CT scan, UES, PET scan later -  (laparoscopy pending)   I have T3 N2 at the join of the stomach and oesophagus and thankfully they now think it's treatable. Anticipate chemo in the next few weeks, surgery and more chemo. The info posted on here from everyone's journey is invaluable and I'll try to add value. Ultimately these forums give you faith and confidence that you are not alone and, whilst the journey is going to be tough, there is (usually) an end to the trauma and a resumption of life with those you love.
I'm scared, psychologically traumatised but now I know there is a plan ready for the fight. 6'3" / 105Kg and been told to gain weight as I'll lose @50% of my body weight post op

Hope my info helps others like the info from Ray, Doug, Milly, Lee, Andy etc has helped me
