I want to help other people who are bad situations. I often see articles about people with incurable cancer that need to raise money (often hundreds of thousands of pounds) for clinical trials. 

My questions is, do you have to pay for clinical trials, even abroad? I get paying for transport and accommodation which but it wouldn't come to that much.

I want to help people and donate, but I'm also aware that there are people who unfortunately lie about having cancer or their child having cancer in order to get money. Before donating money, I want to be careful.
