Firstly Happy Birthday Cancer Research. Great charity, amazing advances.

I have been a witness to cancer, my nan and great nan taken to cancer so too was my dad. My mum thankfully survived thyroid cancer. We lost a 27 year old friend to cancer last year too. My partner, thankfully beat breast cancer. My achievement in the past ten years has been to recognize the importance of charities like CRUK. Without these priceless organisations, thousands more people would die each and every year. Another achievement, on a purely selfish note, seeing my partner go through chemo rid me of my hatred of needles, I nearly fainted the once, but I'm ok with them now!!

I don't really have amazing achievements on the same scale as Sarah's but I thought I would join along and play the game. Unlike RunningDrums, I am still scared of needles and hate blood tests (they can never find my veins and butcher me to get blood out of me). I am still petrified of spiders so I have not really conquered any of my fears in the last 10 years and  I bet in 10 years time, I will still scream when I see a spider!

On the plus side, I left my home country, France, 12 years ago and settled down in the UK and adapted very well to a very different culture, language and food ; later on I met my lovely husband and am now the proud mum of a two year old little girl.  She is definitely my biggest achievement so far.

Now who's next to play the game and tell us what they have achieved in the last 10 years?

Happy Birthday and long may it reign.

I faced cancer and managed to come through the other side and achieved my discharge nearly 11 years after diagnosis.  We got our 30 year old daughter who has mild learning difficulties, frontal lobal epilepsy and bi-polar disorder into her own flat.  We have moved ourselves and re decorated throughout and gutted kitchen, bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Last but not least we have finally moved our 33 year old son out and he is now living with his girlfriend and if you think that is nothing then yiou do not know our son!!!!!!!LOL  He has left and come back 4 times!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Cancer Research UK on their tenth birthday.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, following mastectomy and excision of lymph nodes I took Tamoxifen for five years - eleven years on I am a survivor.

In 2002 I decided to volunteer at the local Cancer Research UK shop and hope to receive my ten year volunteer badge this year. During this time I have also fundraised and my most notable event was Relay For Life which I chaired in 2007 when we raised £16,000.00. I recently gave up fundraising but still volunteer in the shop.

Long may Cancer Research reign and find that cure. Rodis.

Where do I start thanking you all and Cancer Research for all that you have done for us...Christmas 2009 was a very dark time for me and I was supported through by some great and amazing people whom I call friends. I continue to battle cancer and under the palliative care banner. I have not been on Cancer Chat for the last few weeks as much as I would have liked. I was convinced with a recent spread that I was months away from meeting my maker....On asking my oncologist "How long have I got left?" (the first time I have discussed with anyone in 2.5 years)...I was told that I couldn't have an answer as It would be too inaccurate and even though things have grown I still have a long way to go before this needs to be discussed....so apart fro being told I am cured this was the next best thing!

I need to get back in the stirrups as there are a large number of people out there that need a shoulder and a listening ear.

Please dont change anything as It is a first class service as it is :@)...

Happy Birthday Cancer Research UK! I'm very proud to be part of an organisation that has achieved so much in the last 10 years.

My biggest achievement in the last 10 years has to be adapting to life without my wonderful Mum.

My Mum had lung cancer and died in 2003, which was completely devastating for me and my whole family.

I wasn't sure how I'd be able to carry on without her in my life (I know lots of people on here can relate to that), but I have since got married and had two children and started work at Cancer Research UK.

I'd like to think that she's proud of me!
