CRUK Campaigns Ambassadors - Election Year

Hi again,

As you may have noticed the UK will be having a general election this year.
If you’ve been affected in any way by cancer you’re eligible to become a Campaigns Ambassador for CRUK.
One of our key objectives is to ensure that all parties are committed to improving cancer outcomes across the UK, ideally by including this in their manifestos.
We do this by engaging directly with MPs using social media, emails and face to face contacts.
MPs are reluctant to engage with anyone from outside their constituency, so ideally we would have an Ambo in every constituency across the UK.

I’ve been in this role for several years now and enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve met and made some good friends along the way and I feel my efforts have made a small difference to the situation. Collectively, we will make a huge difference. Ambos have been very active this year in signing MPs up to support the anti-smoking legislation - the PM is now onboard and Labour will be whipping their MPs to support the bill.

There are more formal details at https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/get-involved/volunteer/become-a-campaigns-ambassador - I’m happy to answer any questions you may have on this thread or via a personal message.

Best wishes
Dave

I just wanted to thank you for sharing this information with us and for your continued support.

All the hard work you and the other ambos do makes such a big difference so thank you helping us with our on-going mission to improve cancer outcomes for all.

    We really do appreciate it.
