Cancer Chat is getting a makeover, and so we want to update you on what’s happening ahead of the launch, which will be happening in early June.
The forum will be updated with a fresher look and feel, and we’ve also designed the site to work better across mobile devices so you can use it more easily from wherever you are. We know that more than 80% of people visit the site using a mobile device, so we have improved the way Cancer Chat works on your phone or tablet.
Here are some of the important things you need to know
There will be no difference in the way you post on the forum. When the new site launches next month all your discussions and private messages will be moving with us, so you’ll still be able to continue with your conversations in exactly the same way.
Your username and avatar will remain the same but you will need to change your password. Don’t worry, a reminder will be sent out before the launch date with instructions on how to do this.
To keep things simple, we haven’t made too many changes, but we do have some helpful new features:
There is a new bookmarking feature. This will enable you to keep track and easily access any posts or threads that you find helpful or interesting.
We have listened to your feedback and incorporated a spellcheck which we know will be useful to many of you.
The forum automatically saves a draft of your post, so you won’t need to worry about losing everything you’ve written before you’ve had chance to publish your post.
We hope you are looking forward to seeing the new forum, but we will be emailing everyone and putting up another post towards the end of the month to let you know what you need to do once the forum is up and running.
There will be a planned period of time when the current forum will be unavailable while we switch to the new site, but we’ll make sure we give you plenty of warning.
Do let us know if you have any questions and look out for another update from us later in the month.
Best wishes,
The Cancer Chat Team
