Help please

Recently diagnosed with lobular carcinoma. Today is my fathers 1 year anniversary from lung and bone cancer. Sister died 10 months ago from Covid. She was 53. I'm 41. Feel like it's not worth fighting. I miss my friend.

  • My goodness you have been going through everything recently. You are really young and have everything to look forward to cancer care is really good and the doctors are really helpful. If you want to talk about this contact the nurse specialist at your hospital they are really knowledgeable about the up to date treatment and what you can expect, or they can refer you to the right person.

    Take care

    Susie

  • I'm sorry sorry for your loss you have to keep fighting and stay strong your sister would have wanted that,I also lost my mum, sister and dad within 5 years then I was diagnosed with cancer I do understand, try to keep busy think of the good times with your dad and sister and try to think positive x

  • Hi Susie

thanks so much for your reply, I had hit a very low point the weekend. It's just hard to keep at it all the time. I have had my lumpectomy and did score low on the onco test so I'm waiting on a radiation plan. Maybe it's the start of tamoxifen that has me all emotional! It's exhausting getting up every day and feel like you are going to war Maybe it will get better as people say.

Just to know I appreciated your kindness

  • Thanks so much for your reply

people think I'm making it up when you tell them of everything that happened in a short space of time. Sometimes I don't tell them but I'm bursting to tell them about my amazing funny sister and I'm hero dad. In the pandemic they slipped away without anyone much noticing yet my world fell apart. Maybe I have angels though since my tumour is not visible or is occult on both mammogram and MRI. It was found by chance and a young radiographer that took a chance on a blur. I'm tired though.

  • Yes I'm sure they are looking down on you, they are your guardian angels I do believe that, just stay strong and positive that will help and think of all the lovely memories you have of them.
