6 months on

How does everybody cope, 6 months since losing my husband and I can't see how get through this. All I can see is a brick wall, I can't see over it or round it. We have 2 grown up children and an 18 month old grandson, I am just living my life for them, the reason for getting up, but I am finding it so hard. I have my own business and feel it is a burden at the moment, because I have to work to keep it going, and all I want to do is pull the duvet over my head. I miss him so much, everyone says I am strong but I was only strong with him by my side. I just can't see a life without him! How does everyone else do this.

I'm sorry to hear that you're still struggling with the loss of your husband. Whilst 6 months can feel like an eternity, it is still early days in your journey with grief and it's natural that you're feeling as you've described.

I'm unsure if you've spoken with anyone, other than friends and family, about how you're feeling but you may want to consider getting in touch with a charity called Cruse. They're able to offer bereavement support and it really can help to have a safe space in which you can talk about things. Do consider getting in touch with them if you've not already had some support. You might also want to think about having a chat with your GP to see if they're able to help.

Although easier said than done, try not to look too far ahead and take each day as it comes. If a day seems too much then break it down further.

Keep in touch Filwain100. We're here to support you as much as we can.

    Best wishes,
