My mum died on the 7th of March of suspected malignancy

My mum died 7th of March, but 6 months before that she had had a scan done and got told she didn't have cancer, but 6 days before she died I was told it probably is cancer and probably bowel as it's hard to locate that on a scan but when she died they put on death certificate suspected malignancy, not bowel cancer and she never got an autopsy so I'll never know, if Covid hadn't come along and it was bowel maybe she would still be here

  • Hello CazzaBoo,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you won't mind but I have changed your title so it is more specifically about your mum and can be spotted more easily by our members who have also recently lost a loved one to cancer.

It must be really hard not to have any answers as to whether your mum definitely had cancer or not to have ever had a definite diagnosis. As you say, covid has made everything so much more complicated but it's really hard to know what might have happened.

I am so sorry for your loss and wanted you to know that you are not alone. Many on our forum have sadly recently lost a loved one to cancer and I hope they will be along shortly to share their stories with you.

    Best wishes,
