Loosing a partner at 19

My boyfriend of 3 years past away on febuary 17th 2021 after 3 weeks of being diagnosed. I was self isolating without him for 20 days in January due to covid so did not see the change in him until 20th of January. He was only 19 years old and I watched him deteriate in the ICU for the last 2 weeks of his life. I knew him for 7 years and was with him for 3. He had an extremely rare and spiderweb like tumor in his abdomen which could not be removed. We tried chemo but unfortunately he passed away a week later.

  • Hi Unknown,

I just saw your post and wanted to offer my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

I can't begin to imagine how tough this has been for you or what you're going through at the moment but I'm glad you've reached out to us as many of our members know how difficult and painful it is to lose a loved one to cancer and I'm sure you'll receive some more support from the community soon.

We're thinking of you Unknown and along with Coffeecup, sending big virtual hugs your way.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Unkown

Hi unkown so sad to read your post, and what  grief you must be feeling on losing your boyfriend so young, and as you say Covid has made it even tougher as you couldn't be with him as much as you wanted to.

Sending you a great big virtual hug , and all I can offer as words of comfort  is ,he is not suffering any more, but I know that doesn't realy help as you are, with your grief, but although  you've probably got support from your family and friends, grief can be a lonely place, but time helps it,never really goes away but it's not as raw. Xxxx Sorry Steph this was ment for unkown , but I replied to your comment instead of unknowns and can't seem to change this without deleting my reply .x
