Missing My Dad So Much

Im missing my dad so much it all happend so quick i lost him the end of February, My Dad meant everything to me and people say Im just like him he was the heart and soul of the house now the house is so quiet without him, he started of the end of December with stomach aches and due to covid the consultations were over the phone the doctors and they thought he had constipation and thats why he had stomach ache all the time he was taken by ambulance to hospital the 8th of February due to the pain he was in, he was there for 10 days and the diagnosed Duodenal Cancer and that it had spread the lungs, on sat the 20th Feb we all had a call to go up and they had news to tell us that my dads organs were failing and I will never forget that day but he was alert and laughing and joking with us like he always did when we were going up the next day 21st i went to see him at 9am and he was asleep and he would not wake just slight eyebrow movements and the odd tossing and turning and grasp of my hand, at 4.15 he passed away that afternoon he was only 63 years old. He wasn't just my dad he was also my best friend and work mate we worked together for 10 years, in July last year he went through major heart surgery, new aortic valve replacement, bypass and removal of an aortic aneurysm, and pulled through that amazingly and was doing ever so well, i just wish he was here with me now, just hours before he passed away he shouted my name and that was the last thing he said and that will live with me forever.

  • Hi Scott, so sorry about your Dad, I have a similar story about my husband, he also became ill very quickly, unable to eat and nauseous in November. He was told it was a type of cancer in December and he passed away in January. Like your Dad, he’d got through operations like gall bladder removal and hernias. He was 62.
