  • Hello Tezzar71

I'm so very sorry to hear about your recent loss of your sister. Added to the loss of your other siblings and mother to cancer I can only begin to imagine how incredibly difficult it has been for you.

You don't mention in your post if you've ever sought any counseling support for what you've experienced. If this is something that you think may help you, or indeed your sister's husband or children, then you may want to think about getting in touch with an organisation called Cruse. They are a charity that offers bereavement support, to both adults and children/young people, in a variety of different ways.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses for some support then you're welcome to call them. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi jen iv had abit of counselling but it can help others cope with there loved ones leaving us so now I talk to my wife alot about it and my nieces and nephews who are all in there 20s now so that helps us all at the same time to grieve together.  Thank you so much jen for your reply I just think I cant believe I have lost my full family most through cancer my mams brothers and sister all passed with cancer I wonder if it can run in the family iv looked online but its tells you different things

  • I'm glad that you have someone to talk to Tezzar71.

You're right that there are some cancers that can run in families. If you wanted to chat to one of our nurses I'm sure they would be able to give you some information and advice if you wanted to speak to your GP about any concerns you have.

    Best wishes,
