Finding it more difficult without my husband

Trying to stay positive but starting to loose the confidence now .  I think it’s extremely hard for us people who have lost their husbands/ wives etc in these times.  It’s been 17months since my amazing husband has passed and really feeling like I want to go to friends and family’s houses for hugs and support.  Weather not helping . Trying to keep strong for my to lovely children.

  • Hi

I lost my husband in September - we didn't even know he was ill.  From feeling a little unwell with a bad back to leaving me only took 5 weeks. We had been together for 54 years - he was my best friend.  I feel constantly afraid, afraid of the now, afraid of the future.  I know it will not get any better as I loved him so much and now I feel so alone.  The only thing getting me out of bed at the moment is my dog who I would be absolutely lost without.   I am sending you a hug and hope we can find the strength to heal. xx

  • Hi

Thanks for your reply and sorry for your loss too.  I had been with my husband 26 years and he was only 54.  I am now sitting in my bed having amazing cuddles with my dog she is the best they are so loving .  I have never had a dog before until now she makes me smile, laugh and makes me busy .  You look after yourself and let’s hope we can meet people inside soon to have that companionship. X
