Hi Kelly, I'm so sorry about your Dad and how quick it was. My Mum died of cancer and dementia and had looked dreadful so like you my feelings were "what if" but the funeral home had done a wonderful thing and she looked just like my Mum, beautiful, calm and the ravages of her last days had gone, she looked as though she was sleeping and I chatted to her, saying how much I loved her, what a good Mum she had been and I came away feeling at peace, so don't be scared. I hope you see him as your Dad had always been. My prayers are with you and your family, Carol x
i visited saw my mother after she died ..... but others don't. I think you need to go with your feelings and not beat yourself up if you can't. I agree that the funeral home do make the person look alright, but it is as if the person has left the body, so remember he lives in your heart now.... x
