Grief is overwhelming and I am appalled at how long people have to wait for bereavement counselling. If you can afford it I would pay privately for a session or two. I have done this once online. It cost me £50 but was worth it. I used money I would normally spend on petrol but saving now as working from home due to COVID. Some people's employers offer a few free sessions too. In the meantime talk to us. It's helping me talk to you all.

I’ve followed this site for almost two years now and so many times I’ve wanted to post. 

I am am going through what most are on here, either directly or due to a loved one. Don’t ask me why, but your post made me stop in my tracks. After receiving devastating news about a loved one diagnosed with terminal lung cancer I became involved with a charity, Talking About Loss. They have amazing counsellors, people going through/gone through what you are now, offering support and time to your needs. Please reach out to them they have a website and Facebook page and I can honestly say have helped me and so many I know. 

My loved one is still with me for now, unfortunately, I, like many others know this is short lived and I am thankful for each day. Please don’t go through this silently. This charity is national and help in ways I never knew possible. x

Thank you for posting this. My Mum passed in May from cancer and there has been ZERO support for us.

We had one phone call from the Hospice and nothing from GP.

We have been isolated and trying to recover from a very traumatic time. And GP are just not interested unless you have Covid-19 it seems. 

I will be in touch with this charity...thanks again.
