Loss of an Adult Child - anyone here who can help my mum?

Hey All

I'm desperately looking for some help, guidance, advice or just some kind words. My mum is in hell, I am terminally ill, I'm ok, but always on the verge of bad news. I've had three life saving surgeries and pretty much on the last ditch attempt to control my disease with chemo.

Is there anywhere I can put mum in touch with similar parents, or support networks that could assist in this awful time. She quite rightly is angry, frustrated and would do anything to get rid of this state we are in, unfortunately, we all know it's going one way (not yet of course). I just would love if someone could listen to her, she has no family, other than me. Some friends, but I don't think they want the honest conversations around the death of a child; however old that child might be.

thanks for listening.

take care and stay safe

Poppy

  • Hi Poppy,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read what you, and also your mum, are going through. It's good that you have found this forum and I hope it proves to be a small outlet for you and/or your mum. It's a safe space to talk to others who understand, or even simply to write things down knowing others are here to listen and chat. It may be that your mum would find it useful to register to the forum and write things down too - sometimes it can be helpful to speak to others in a community like this rather than people who are closer such as friends or family.

Otherwise, organisations such as Macmillan or Maggie's may be able to offer some support and point to some useful resources.

I hope some of this proves to be helpful.

    All the best,
