Lost partner of 12 years to gallbladder cancer 5 weeks ago

My partner of 12 years died of gallbladder cancer 5 weeks ago aged 49. He was diagnosed on Christmas eve. I'm lost, heartbroken and don't see a way forward at all. I try to do something every day, even if it's half an hour in the garden but it's getting harder and the tears and heartache are unbearable. I have good family and friends but nobody really understands how I feel.

  • Hi Misha16,

I'm so sorry to hear this. I can only imagine how incredibly difficult this must be. No doubt the emotions must be a struggle - give yourself all the time and space you need to grieve. It sounds like you are doing well in terms of keeping a little bit of normality here and there with your gardening and so on.

I know sometimes it can be hard to open up to family and friends so if you feel it is helpful then do be sure to speak to others too. That could be us here on this forum, or professional organisations such as Cruse who offer valuable support.

We're always here to listen so do use this forum as much as is helpful - sometimes it can simply be a bit of a help to write a few things down.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
