My mum

Hi,

I have written on here now a couple of times, and thankyou for all of your responses. Unfortunately on the 1st of Feb, my mum lost her very short battle with cancer, with me by her side. I'm up late tonight, as it's my first night at home after mum passing, and I'm struggling to sleep. Whenever I had difficulty sleeping I'd always message my mum. Does this ever get any easier?

  • Hi there ...

So so sorry your going through this heartbraking time at the moment.... and yes in time it does get easier, but we never stop missing our mum's..

How lucky are we to have had amazing mum's... she will live in your heart now ... take her with you through your life ... I'm sure she's looking down on you, and so proud of her girl ...

Sending you a vertual hug.... Chrissie x

  • So sorry. I'm right with you. I also lost my mum on the same day and within similar timescales.

We knew shortly after the New Year that her cancer had spread - but we thought we had time. Sadly mum spent her last weeks on hospital. On the plus side she had excellent, around the clock care - and we were able to spend as much time with her as we wanted.
Unfortunately we have a wait over three weeks for her funeral. Just as we are coming to terms with it all - a delayed funeral will be like picking a scab off the wound.

We are fortunate that we have a strong faith - which has been an enormous source of comfort. All the same, there are good days and bad days. Little steps, I guess...
