Miss my mum

I lost my mum on the 27th of September 2018 and  I am really finding it hard to cope I was always with my mum every day she was my best friend . She struggled with bowel cancer I thought she was doing okay but the cancer took her away and I miss her so much.

  • Hi Lorraine,

So sorry to hear about your loss! I completely understand how you feel. I lost my mum in aug 2017 and although it’s been a while not a day goes by where I don’t miss her, especially at this time of year. This year it seems harder, I walked into the store today, saw all the cards and had to walk out! I hope you are coping as well as you’re able. I am here if you need to talk.

  • Hi Lorraine, so sorry for your loss, looks as though you're similar age to me and I lost my mum on the 26th September 2018, I can understand some of how you feel, the pain and loss is very difficult to bear and especially today.I'm having counselling, 'normal' people I think feel in some way, I should be 'over it', I won't ever get over losing my mum but trying to get to a stage of acceptance.

Does it help to talk to your family or friends? Just wondering whether counselling might help? We're all different and there are no timeframes, just individual grief but sending you warm wishes and hope that in time, for both of us, it will become easier.

    Take care
