Seeing signs from deceased loved ones

Hi everyone. I'm sure that there have already been many forum threads on this topic, but I'm really curious to hear about your experiences.

When you lost someone close to you, did you see signs? I've heard of feathers, electronic disturbances etc. but I've never had a conversation in the real world with anyone about it.

I'm not exactly an atheist - my boyfriend says I'm an agnostic atheist or something...in other words, I don't subscribe to any organized religion, but can accept that we just don't have very many answers to a lot of things, so I'm open.

I just find this all very interesting! I'm really not the kind of person to believe in any of this kind of stuff, but I will share the things that I have experienced (and a few things my sister has mentioned)

The last day my mother was alive, my sister went to say good bye with her children. She said that when she left the hospital, across the street there was loud jazz music playing from someones house. It startled her, because jazz was my mothers favourite. Throughout her illness I would play her jazz music on my phone. In her last couple of days I asked her for special requests and she said "Charlie Bird" (a jazz musician).

The day after she passed my sister noticed a white feather in her jacket. I had heard about the feather phenomenon, but didn't say anything to her. She wasn't aware of any kind of meaning. It was just funny to me, she offhandedly said "where did this feather come from?" or something like that...I just shrugged. But I never forgot it.

At my mothers funeral and visitation, I played music by Charlie Bird on my bluetooth speaker. A week later I popped into a second hand store, and right above the cash was a Charlie Bird record.

I have witnessed some weird bird activity outside my condo townhouse. There aren't many birds in the area, a few crows, robins and various small birds here and there. But mostly squirrels. A few times since she has passed I have heard a loud gathering of birds right by my house. Hundreds of them in a tree, or on the ground right by my deck, making quite the racket. One time my boyfriend noticed and he said "wow, that's weird...we don't normally see birds here". I teared up and said "it's my mother".

I've had weird experiences suddenly smelling things that aren't there, one time it was peaches and another time strawberries. The best way I can describe it is like a halucination only with smelling not visual. I've never had that before she passed. She used to make peach pies when they were in season, and she was obsessed with buying strawberries every week.

Sorry if this is a bit long. I hope some of you will share some of your experiences.

Sarah

You don't even know how to set out paragraphs or use a full stop. You would be the last person I would ask an opinion on the mysteries of the universe.

To come onto a forum where people are grieving lost ones to try and pathetically troll them is a low act of a simple minded and a rather nasty moron - you'll be banned soon, so yeah... get back under your bridge, troll.

Hi JD1991, I am replying to you because you will have the reply from the site from this arsehole who - for some reason - has decided to troll a website dedicated to people who have lost loved ones to cancer.

Why do they do it? I have no idea but all I can say is these people live amongst us. I know my mum is looking after me from wherever she is and your mum is also looking after you too. You don't need anyone to tell you otherwise and that it will get better - I lost my mum over two years ago and life is better - I would rather have her back but I know she is with me in other ways and that is a comfort.

Why do people like 'James_C' do what they do? How bad is their life that they would get some kick out of doing what he has done to you and the rest of us, I don't know but like I said, *** live amongst us and we have to put up with them and their childish and infantile behaviour, I am sorry you will wake up to his posts but ignore them, that is all they're worth.

James, you little weirdo, nobody here is interested in your 'experiences' or your silly youtube videos.

How is your life and how much self-hatred and unhappiness you must have to troll a forum where people have lost loved ones to cancer and your idea is to come on here with your half baked theories and upset people? OK, this post will get deleted as will your latest troll account and then what? Are you going to keep making new troll accounts and link videos that nobody will watch? The thing is, none of us care about you or your opinion so you are just wasting your time.

But what I suggest is when you get up the next morning, go and take a long hard look in the mirror and have a good think about how to get rid of your self hate and despicable and nasty trolling behaviour and become a better person! Because at this moment in time, I can make a better person out of a pile of horse manure.

As Sean Carroll says we should accept that there is no afterlife and move on with our lives even if it is upsetting to accept that there is no afterlife.

You'll find out one way or the other if I ever get hold of you, you little weirdo.

Anyway, you'll be banned in a few hours from now - got anything else to say before you get banned again?

Like I said, you must have an awful, horrible life full of hate and misery to get your kicks out of trolling a cancer bereavement forum. Only the lowest form of *** would do such a thing - your family must be proud.

Particles can be in many places at once and since we are made up of particles we can be in many places at once. Every time you make a decision, observe something and something happening to you, you evolve into a superposition of all of the outcomes happening and you branch into multiple copies of you. Once the branching happens, you have split into seperate people, these seperate people can no longer interact with each other. I have a video on many worlds interpretation and parallel universes here: youtube.com/watch?v=KTXTPe3wahc&t=404s

  • I've always wished to receive a sign from a loved one who's passed away. It never happened & I believed it was 'all in the mind.' I've been desperate for a sign from my mum who passed away 10 years ago.

However, 2 years ago I was seriously ill in ICU with pancreatitis & pneumonia. For the first few days I was only aware of my surroundings for a few minutes at a time & then I would slide back into another deep sleep. The board above my head showed my name was Angela, not Angie as I am usually known by. The staff & other patients knew me as Angela and, as it was during Covid, visitors weren't allowed so there is no way that anyone would know me as Angie.

On the third day I heard my mum's voice whisper in my ear 'It's OK Angie, you can wake up now.' I opened my eyes & there was no one near my bed. I know now my mum was there looking over me & if it's the only sign I ever receive from her for the rest of my life I'm happy & content.
