Oesophageal cancer

My hubby and soul mate passed away 2 months ago. Family and friends are very supportive but sometimes I want to be on my own and just cry, is this normal?

  •  Hi there, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I think it is perfectly normal to want to shut yourself away from the world and take comfort in Familiar surroundings with your memories and just bawl your eyes out.  Too often we are frightened to confront grief and yet without it we cannot  come to terms, if indeed we ever do, with our loss.  So I say go for it, do whatever you think is right for you – don’t let anybody tell you any different.  Providing, and this is really crucial, you don’t let it become a way of life.  It cannot all be about sadness and darkness, we have to try and find the sunshine sometimes.

    Good luck xxx

  • Thank you so much. That makes a lot of sense x
