Nothing has changed - coping with the loss of my mum

nothing has changed to my original post.

everything seems pointless

  • Hello heartstring,

I am so sorry you are still feeling the same - it must be so hard for you at the moment. I know everything feels pointless to you at the moment, but carry on being strong (I know it's easier said than done) and you will see that gradually you will hopefully start feeling a little better. It might be worth talking to someone about it - perhaps a friend or relative rather than keeping these feelings bottled in to yourself which can be overwhelming. It is all still very raw for you and if it does get too much to the point where you feel you cannot cope, I would suggest you give your GP a call and talk things through with her/him.

I was chatting just now on the forum to [@DaddyImissyou]‍ whose dad sadly passed away at around the same time as your mum and whose story you can read here and it sounds like you are in a similar place at the moment, and perhaps you can find some comfort in talking to one another and knowing that you are not alone. Your choice of usernames reveals really how difficult it has been for you both emotionally which is completely understandable after losing a parent to cancer.

I am sure others will soon come and share their stories and offer you some words of comfort in this difficult time.

    Best wishes,
