Mum died of secondary breast cancer....should I get checked?

My mother recently passed away from secondary breast cancer. She received her initial diagnosis just over 4 years ago and had gotten the all clear until March this year. Unfortunately she declined so quickly as the cancer in her liver, lungs and bones was extrememly aggressive and so had no chance to try any additional treatment to extend her life. I just keep thinking that if it had been caught earlier she may still be here.

I'm obviously devastated about her loss as she was so young (only 60) and I'm now wondering whether I should be looking to be checked out and/or tested for the cancer gene.

My mum only passed away 4 weeks ago so I could be just reacting to that so wanted to ask people's advice.

Thanks in advance x
