Hello Particular94; welcome to the forum.  I was older than you when my dad died (my mam having died a few years earlier) but no matter what the age in my experience anyway it hits you hard when you have lost both your parents.  So much of your previous life has been lost along with the sorrow of losing your parents.  I remember how awful it was going through their home; my dad bless him had been very organised and reduced belongings to just what he needed but it was still hard; I clutched their wedding photograph (WW2 clothes on ration) to take home with me.

Take your time; just deal with each day as it comes.  I remember that before the funeral there were things to sort out; people coming to visit and it was actually a fairly busy time. but, as you say, once the funeral has passed you are more or less on your own (actually that is a bit unfair  - relatives and neighbours tried to be helpful in my case),  Have you any siblings; I know it helped that I had my sister who was in the position as myself.    Do whateveer makes you feel better; look at your parents' possessions that you still have; talk to them (out loud or in your head) if you want to.  And do come back here to tell us what you are feeling if that helps you as well.  Best wishes.  Annie
