Hi Lynn,

You must have got an awful shock when your dad called you over to Tenerife to say goodbye to your mum. I offer my sincere sympathy to you and to your family.  I lost my mum to cancer too, but only after 12 years of pain and suffering.  I’m not sure which way is preferable, although I still wish that she was here with us. We had all these years to watch her deteriorating in body and in mind, which was heart-breaking.

In your case it has been very sudden, but your mum went on holiday with your dad to a lovely sunny destination.  Apart from passing in your sleep, I cannot imagine a better way for her to go. Losing your mum who has cared for you and fought your corner since the day you were born, is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do in life.

I am so glad to hear that you made it across in time to say your goodbyes and to be with her for her last few days. I’m sure that she has gone more peacefully, knowing that you will look after your dad.

This is not an easy time for you and, there will be darker days for quite a while to come. If you are feeling tearful, don’t stop the tears. They are a good stress-release and do you more good than harm. Do you have any other siblings to support you at this sad time?

You are in my thoughts and prayers, as you come to terms with all that has happened. We are always here for you whenever you want to talk.

Hi Lynn, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mum and although not exactly the same, I too lost my Mum in January of this year. She was a fit, healthy 70 year old and I took her to doctors 28th November 2017 with suspected viral infection and 7 weeks later she had gone. She had Mantle Cell Lymphoma, rare and very aggressive Non Hodgkin’s.She didn’t stand a chance. I took her for a biopsy on 4/1/18 and she was admitted and never came home :-(

Funeral was 27th February and I just can’t believe she’s gone. 

I cant imagine the complete sudden loss of your Mum and her diagnosis as mine is hard enough and wanted to send you my love & thoughts.
