Hello Westloch2018 and welcome to this forum.  Reading your post I don't think you have any reason to feel guilty about what happened.  It must have been very difficult for you but it would not have helped your mum to know the truth about what was happening.  I think you did what was the right thing in a very difficult situation; the doctors don't always get it right and it is not always easy to tell what is going to happen.  I am sure you cared lovingly for your mum throughout this time.  You are by no means the only person who has come to this forum after finding themselves in a difficult situation.  When things do not go as expected it is not the fault of whoever is doing their best to love and care for their loved one.  Please keep posting here and tell us about your mum.  Annie

Both my Mum and Dad who live with me and my hubby got taken to A and E on 2nd Jan 2018 just 3 hours after each other. Sadly my Mum passed on 4th Jan and Forth Valley Royal Larbert  were amazing getting my very ill Dad to my Mums bedside to hold her hand when she passed.

My Wonderful Mum lost a lung to TB aged 25.

She never ever ever complained how she felt and battled on taking care of others.

i noticed about 10 months ago her breathing seemed erratic but despite calling GP out they said there was nothing wrong and about 10 days before she died got told her blood oxygen was a bit low.

Despite only having one lung she was a soldier.

I am sorry to hear your loss. I lost my mom when I was 18, that was a few decades ago now. Last month I lost my partner to cancer, after less than one month of diagnosis. I know it is hard for you now, and the guilt and pain will be with you for a while. We are still grieving for the loss of our loved ones. It will be some time before the rawness goes away and we can finally see a way forward. I hope like me, you will find connecting with people in bereavement will bring some comfort to you.

Your mom must have been a brave and strong woman, and I am glad your dad was able to be there for her at the end. I hope he will be better soon.
