Hello

The picture you see (hope you can) is my son Mitchel.  He died on 10 Jan this year from Malignant Melanoma.  5 days later his little 7 yr old son had an 11 hr surgery to remove a brain tumour.  Diagnosed 4 days after my son passed away.

I am the very proud mum and grandma of 2 brave lads in my life.

If we can talk openly about loss and coping then i am happy to start here.

  • Hello Suzie,

Thanks a lot for sharing your moving story and the picture of your son Mitchel. It looks from looking at the photo like Mitchel was also a keen musician or guitar player?

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a child is such a traumatic thing and in your case this was then followed by the sad news of your grandson's diagnosis. How awful it must have been that he was diagnosed just 4 days after your son passed away. How has the little one been since the surgery? Has he recovered well? I really hope that he is ok now. These two lads in your life are certainly very brave and so are you Suzie as it can't have been easy for you.

I hope you will soon get chatting here to others who have lost a loved one recently and that you can exchange coping strategies.

We are all here for you anytime you need to talk and I am sure many on our forum will be as touched by your story as I have been.

    Best wishes,
