  • Hi Syl

Hope the x-ray gives some clue as to why your foot is still sore and your telephone call re your ears goes well.  Like you have been enjoying the garden (pottering and moving a few containers around to give me a better 'camera view' as I do my armchair photography).  Cleared a few weeds that were interfering with my roses but otherwise I leave them for the bees to enjoy. Will pull them out when the flowers finish.  A few days till No Mow May finishes and then will tackle the lawn lol.  Lovely visits from the feeding fledglings (sparrows and starlings), Great Spotted Woodpecker has begun coming regularly (think there must be young in the park at the bottom of my road!!).  I love watching Chelsea on the TV(have been twice but gave it a miss this year and just did the local community/shops free event walk with a friend).   Went walking with a friend on Saturday,  gym and park walk yesterday and going to have coffee with another friend this morning.  A cooler breeze here first thing but still did my pre breakfast stroll and then watched my night camera footage and the usual two foxes visited/played in the garden.  It lifts the spirits to see the wildlife.  With the lighter evenings one of them sometimes comes in daylight and it is a case of her watching me watching her!  Hope you have a good week.  My next outing is on Wednesday when I am going into London to meet one of my wildlife friends who is visiting her publishers (her children's book was released on 1st May).  We will have a catch up and I can get my copy of the book signed (have already gifted it to two of my grandchildren who are the right age to enjoy it!). Take care.  Regards.  Jules x

  • Hi Jules, had my consultation on the phone with the doctor about my ears he couldn't find anything wrong with them ,so it sounds as if I will have to live with the noises , haven't heard anything from the x-ray on my foot yet they said it could take up to three weeks before I hear anything .glad you're weeding your garden my path is full of weeds I could do with getting some one to do it for me I don't like using pesticides as they can be harmful to wild life some one told me vinegar and bacabinate of soda are good so might try them .I've had a lot of baby birds in my garden as well manly starlings and sparrows ,I'm cleaning my bird bath out nearly every day has there bathing in it has well has drinking from it ,it seems ages since we had any rain no rain forecast for next week either , glad you're enjoying the wild life that comes into your garden ,I don't have anything like that my little hedgehog comes in most nights ,I feed him cat food sometimes I give him dry cat food as well which he seems to enjoy . hope you enjoy meeting your friend in London, can't believe you're friends with someone who has got a book published I don't know anyone like that lol ,the baths is open again after the pandemic and it has had a refubish cost quite a lot of money to get it finished, swimming aerobics starts on Monday can't wait to go and give it a try it's six pounds for 45minutes it seems such a long time since I was at the baths .I'm out Tuesday with two of my friends were going on a coach to a place called Barton grange it's a garden centre then on a barge for a spot of lunch, I'm looking forward to it as I haven't been out in ages have a lovely week enjoy the sunshine regards Syl X

  • Hi Syl,

Delay in replying as CancerChat underwent a change (no doubt you had the email too).  So I have done what is needed to be able to post again and hope notifications will drop into our emails in the same way as before.  So the doc could not find anything wrong with your ears and a shame that you will have to live with the noises (did they rule out tinnitus as this is what my Mum had and though no treatment then she was advised to try using low music to mask the annoyance). Whilst I do weed I am selective asI like my wild look garden so any weeds that flower stay until the flowers die off an then I pull them up.  I have a whole area by the side of the garage that I have left to go completely wild and will just clear at the end of Autumn.   Sowing wildflowers has filled a lot of gaps in the long border so my weeding is now quite minimal.   Lovely day again today so I went for a park walk after lunch and was out a couple of hours.  Has been a busy week which I like as sitting indoors is not my favourite pastime.  My hip still giving discomfort so for the first time in my life I have an appointment on Friday with an Osteopath so will see what she has to say!  Today I had a company round to get a quote for new double glazing on the first floor and hopefully a small porch installed. If I go ahead they would hope to have in done within the coming 3 months as are very busy at the moment (always a good sign and I have used them before).  Trying to arrange a catch up with my son and family who I have not seen since we were on holiday in April (just as much my fault as his as we both have busy lives).  Visiting old friends for a couple of days next week so really looking forward to that.  Hope you enjoyed swimming aerobics now it has re-started.  I am not a swimming fan but have mates that go regularly and really enjoy it.  Did you enjoy your grip to Barton Grange and the lunch on board the barge - sounds a nice way to spend the day.  Take care and hope you navigate your way back onto Cancer Chat.  Kind regards.  Jules

  • Hi  Jules I've no idea how I found you sheer luck I'm not sure I will find you again it's a bit complicated especially for some one who isn't computer friendly like me,ido have tinnitus but my earing aids stop it until I take them out I'm at the hospital  later in the month for the murmur the doctor found when she examined me , she doesn't think it's serious but wants to check it just to be on the safe side.glad your getting your windows sorted and having a porch built ,we were going to have one done when we moved in our house but never got round to it.hope you have a nice catch up with your son ,my son is in benidorm at the moment on a stag party GOD HELP THE HOTEL there staying in lol ,I'm at my daughter's Sunday for my dinner it's forecast rain Saturday we haven't had rain for ages the group is that dry I'm filling my bird bath up every day as the birds are drinking and bathing in it, don't know what my water bill will be like I hope you enjoy your few days away it's nice to visit friends ,I really enjoyed my swimming aerobics it was nice to get in the water again think she is hoping to do a couple of sessions in the morning and one in the evening,I enjoyed my trip to Barton grange with my friends it was a lovely day so the trip on the barge was lovely the hotpot was nice as well I hope I can find you again have a lovely week regards Syl X

  • Hi Syl

Now you are back on the new Cancer Chat when I reply you will get an email (like before) and there is a link that says view online, click on that and it will take you straight to the message sent to you and you can reply in the usual way.  Hope this helps.  I use a laptop every day but any tech changes takes a little time to get used to. No plans for this weekend. At the osteopath later today and with hot weekend forecast that will cut down my miles walked as need to be sensible.  Probably a bit of garden pottering and sit in the shade with a book!  Visit to Friends is just overnight so we can have a meal out and I wont be clock watching for a train home. Have a lovely meal with your daughter and I expect your son is having a great time at the stag do.  Hotels will be used to them as Barcelona a very popular spot for these things apparently.  Not somewhere I have visited.  Not sure I will have another holiday this year.  If our weather is going to be good happy to stay home and enjoy local day trips. Take care and have a good week.xx.

  • Hi Jules so hard to find you again on this stupid new cancer chat I haven't even signed in hope you enjoyed your day with your friend hope everything went well with the osteopath,I'm at the hospital next Wednesday to see if I have a heart murmur then on the Thursday I'm at the doctor's with my foot,it doesn't seem has bad now but will go just to see what they say,my son enjoyed the stag weekend in benidorm they didn't end up in jail lol but they got up to some naughty things the weather here is still hot it's very humid here we did get a couple of thunder storms but still hot were all praying for rain now it's supposed to rain Sunday father's day will go the cream to put flowers on my dad's plot , don't think I'm out this week end didn't go my dementia group it was cancelled this week as the lady who does it is on holiday and the week after I'm at the hospital.have a lovely week let me know how you get on with the osteopath keep out of the sun lol regards Syl X

  • Hi Syl

Not quite sure why you having a problem in finding my replies. I get an email when you reply to me and at the bottom of that are two words, view online. I click on that and it brings me straight to your thread.  Anyhow  here I am and have just come in from a day relaxing in the beautiful warm sunshine out in the garden. I was out all day yesterday so needed some rest and relaxation today and feel I have had it now. Last Friday's appointment with the Osteopath was good, progress definitely being made and go again in two weeks.  Am now allowed to slowly increase my time walking again thank goodness as I do miss my long strolls with the camera.  Hope you get some answers from your hospital and doctor appointments.  At the gym tomorrow morning but other than that a very quiet week with no plans as yetg made.  May go into town but waiting to hear from my friend as to whether she can make it or if I need to go to her house as her Dad is due to be discharged from hospital back to be with them and he cannot be left alone..Her and her husand had not planned of their retirement being like this  as they cannot get out together.  I sent her flowers at the weekend which I think cheered her up a bit.  Some places had some torrential downpours/storms at the weekend but only a light shower here on my way home from London yesterday.  My lawn is a lovely shade of pale brown but will soon perk up when we do get some rain.  I need to shop for a couple of birthday presents for next month so perhaps I can do that later in the week and then have lunch out..  I am now off into the kitchen to prepare my stir fry ingredients for dinner later.  Take care and have a good week.    Best regards Jules

  • Hi Syl

Had our first overnight rain for the first time in ages last night/early morning. Dry and sunny again by lunchtime.  Had 3rd Osteopath appointment this morning and she certainly helps bring some relieve to the muscles.  She also did some joint manipulation today to try and give more pain relief but will now need an x ray to do further work so that it targets all the right areas.  So now have GP booked for next week and see how we go from there.  This will be the first visit to a GP surgery since pre covid lol.  I was able to meet up with my friend for a quick coffee and chat afterwards.  Her Dad is still in hospital and has had a couple more seizures but is being well care for and in the right place for now.  Visiting is now restricted to 1hr per day so she and the family are taking it in turns so this morning was a bit of normality for her.  .  Hope the foot exercises will prove beneficial and that your appointment re your COPD went okay.  I am out all day Saturday with an early morning walk/breakfast out with a friend and then we go to the gym lol.  Late morning I am going to my son's in-laws for a family get together and BBQ which will last as long as they have visitors so probably late evening.  They are only 20 mins walk from me so can wander home when I am ready.  Will be first time I have seen son and inlaws since our April holiday so looking forward to it.  Nothing much else in the diary for next week so will take each day as it comes depending on the weather.  Have a good week.  Best regards Jules x
