Oh I am sorry to hear that.- I was married to Melanie for 25 years too

I hope that it was as painless and peaceful as possible - were you able to be with him?

I'd imagine that right now your mind is a whirlwind of emotions - I found some stability in busying myself in all the things you have to do afterwards, it helped me.

He's reached the end of his journey now but you're just starting a new ione yourself and no it isn't easy but there are a lot of us on here at different stages of healing from our losses

Saddened to read your post Paddock3.  I was where you are  just over 13 months ago(my husband  of 37 years and best friend for over 42yrs taken too early)  and nothing about the cancer journey or a loved one's passing is easy. It is not easy to find the right words but the forum has helped me cope day to day and hope we can offer a listening ear when you need it. hugs  Jules

My heart goes out to you and I wonder how you are managing. 

My husband died six months ago, he was 55, we were married for 24 happy years

From diagnosis to end : 8 weeks... It seems unacceptable..as if it could not be true..but it is...I am lucky to have support from family amd friends, but none, luckily, of them have lost their partner, I feel so lost and heartbroken

I really dont know what to do with myself and how to cope with everything I feel and think..

I am at the same stage as you, my wife lost her 18 month battle with peritoneal cancer on the 16 th Feb having spent the last 8 weeks in the hospice.

Iam sat here today waiting, as it is her funeral tomorrow, just want yo get through the day.

Keep posting, I will be here as will all the other new friends you now have.

It's nice to have a hand to hold.

Remember the funeral is for all of you left rather than for her - it doesn't matter if you fluff your lines or find you have to stop half way through - it's not an exam it's just a chance for you all to sit around remember her and get some sort of closure.

So many people will be there telling you what a wonderful person she was - Enjoy it
