You can have all the money in the World .... Cancer just don't give a jot.
I do find that after having cancer, through my treatment, I learned a lot about the different types of cancer. Along with this and being on here, I've ended up being a bit of a cancer nerd, snob (might be the wrong word), wally (might be a better adjective), call it what you want.
But whenever I hear of someone famous having cancer, my immediate thought is "That's a real shame, but what cancer have they got or had?"
Although having cancer is never easy, some are more survivorable than others. I was lucky, I just had throat cancer that was caught early. But sometimes the media portrays all cancers as killers, whereas technology has come on so far, that this is not always the case.
However, I am sure that Bowie having cancer was known in the media circles, but it appears to be a family wish to keep this quiet ... big up to the media if this is the case.
(I think i have just moaned and praised the media at the same time)
I will admit that in my own ignorance the on the day i was diagnosed, my immediate thought was "how long have i got?"
Its amazing what a little knowledge and education did for me, to change that thought.
However back to my opening statement ... my thoughts are with the Bowie family .... and everybody else who has lossed a loved one from cancer
Long live Major Tom, Ziggy etc
