  • Hi Vix,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I hope you find it helps by the simple act of writing your feelings down. Losing our mothers is so hard and leaves a big hole in our lives and our lives will never be quite the same again. I lost my mother several years ago and have also just lost my father. We carry on because that is what they would want us to do. Yes it hurts but I find I have lots of happy memories to look back on and when I feel low, I try and remember those and I find it does work for me. I can tell you it does get easier but I feel it's more a case of we gradually adjust to a new way of life with them. Our mothers will always be a part of us for they have given us some of their genes and there are parts of me that I have inherited from both my mother and father.

Take care, sending best wishes and kind thoughts your way, Brian.
