  • Hiya, my sis went to see her gp in February with a "lump" in her abdomen, her gp said it was an age related lump! Fast forward to April for a ultrasound scan which didn't show anything clearly...further test was a CT scan which showed a mass...admitted to hospital then an mri showed liver and lungs and bowel tumours...Did a camera procedure and said no cancer in bowel, just diverticulitis and a polup, then oral camera showed stomach cancer.. happened so fast. My sister loved Christmas and died Christmas day. We are all devastated, The hospital has a lot to answer to, mis-diagnosed for months..life will never be the same again. we are a broken family

  • Hi Ligee,

It sounds as if you've had a very hard year. Some cancers do not show up well on certain scans. Mammogram and ultrasound missed both of my cancers and I found them myself. I do hope that as a family, you can support one another through your grief. It is still early days - give yourselves time to come to terms with your loss - nothing happens quickly in grief.

    Thinking of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
