Loss of my beloved wife

I am finding it very hard, living without my lovely wife Ann. We were together 55 years and it was left a large gap in my life.

  • Hello Henlow71

I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved wife, Ann. Spending 55 years together is a lifetime - a real achievement and I can only imagine the depth of the hole that has been left in your life since she passed away.

Grief is a natural process but it can be devastating. I don't know how long it is since you lost Ann but it's understandable that you're finding it so very hard at the moment.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed by things when you look to the future and how life may change now that Ann is no longer with you. Try to take things a day at a time. If a day feels like too much, then go hour by hour.

I hope that you have support from family and friends around you Henlow71. There are organisations such as Cruse and Marie Curie who can offer bereavement support and there is a listening ear 24/7, 365 days a year at Samaritans

Hopefully you will be able to connect with other community members who have lost loved ones soon, and they can share their advice for coping with grief. In the meantime, keep posting if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling. We're here for you.

Thinking of you at this difficult time,
