  • Hello Maz66

I'm so very sorry to hear that you lost your partner not so long ago. Please accept my condolences on behalf of the whole Cancer Chat team.

Grief is a natural process but it can be overwhelming. Whilst some days it may feel like you only lost your partner yesterday, undoubtedly there will be days when it feels so much longer. You are still very early on in your journey with grief and I hope that you have some support from family and friends around you.

I know that many members here have spoken about how they've found it useful to have bereavement support following the loss of a loved one. I'd suggest having a look at the website for a charity called Cruse as a starting point. They offer a variety of forms of bereavement support across the UK. If there is a Maggie's centre in your local area then you can also get in touch with them to talk with one of their cancer support workers. I know that many people have found their services to be very supportive. You can also contact Marie Curie who offers free telephone bereavement support.

It's also worth speaking with your GP Maz66 so that they can offer any additional support that may be appropriate.

As I said, it is still very early days in your journey with grief. Be kind to yourself Maz66. Lean on those around you for support and reach out for additional help. The Cancer Chat community is here for you if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling. We're here to listen and offer any support we can.

    Sending you my best wishes,
