Hello Marshall82 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,
I am so sorry for your loss. It must have been a real shock to you. It's completely understandable that you are finding it hard to come to terms with your mum's passing - it must have been a real shock for you especially as it sounds like it all happened so fast. There is no right or wrong way to grieve and as you can read in our page on Coping with Grief it is normal to go through a range of feelings and to feel overwhelmed at times. If you feel it is really hard for you to cope, don't hesitate to have a chat to your GP about it.
I hope you won't mind but I have slightly edited your title so that it is more informative and so that your thread can be more easily spotted by other forum members who have also lost a loved one to cancer. It helps to talk to others who are in a similar place and who understand what you are currently going through.
We're thinking of you during this difficult time and wanted you to know that you are not alone and the forum is always there for you and other members of our community will hopefully be along shortly to share their story with you.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hi
I miss my mum terribly too, she was 63 and had just retired. She passed away in November 2022. She had been feeling dizzy for two weeks prior to finding a large tumour on her brain. 3 days later she was gone, she didn't know she had cancer. It was small cell that had spread to liver and then her brain. It breaks my heart everyday. I struggle alot with anxiety, grief and the trauma of how quickly it happened. Life just seems like a mountain at the moment.
