Cancer has won

Good evening

My sister has passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer, she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in July 2021, and the cancer won. She passed away at the age of 50. She was healthy, never smoked and hardly drank, was not overweight.

Right now I feel overwhelmed and I don't know how to cope with it. All these memories are coming back to me . I feel anger, could have this been avoided with better treatment? How do you get over it?

  • Hello Frankster,

I would like to send my condolences on behalf of everyone on Cancer Chat. It's difficult to know what to do and how to cope, so it's important to give yourself time and allow your emotions some space. Grief is a personal thing, but it does help to keep talking to the people you trust.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can contact the Cruse bereavement free helpline on 0808 808 1677. The forum is always here for you too and I hope posting has helped in some way.

    Take care of yourself,

    Moderator Anastasia
